Festival of Trees and RVTV Chili at The Bridge

Stroll through an enchanting forest of decorated trees, tickle your taste buds with a bowl of RVTV cook-off-winning chili and cinnamon rolls, buy raffle tickets to win big prizes like an iPad, and check out some local arts and crafts. Proceeds from the festival will support All Cultures Equal. Small admission fee of $3 for adults, $1 for students.

"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” A classic holiday tradition for the entire family, written by  Barbara Robinson.  Tickets are $10 adult, $5 kids.  Cast of 39 kids and adults.

December 7
Share What You Wear at Iowa Central

They will start collecting items starting Tuesday, November 5th.  The truck will be located directly behind the Career Education Building on the Fort Dodge  campus.  Drop off times are  very Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6 p.m. (except Thanksgiving week) up until the actual event which is Saturday, December 7th.  Students from Student Senate will be there to help you unload your vehicle.
This event is for the needy people in our community.  Iowa Central hopes you can give of your time, your items or money to help make this another successful event.  This truly is Christmas for a lot of people in the community that don’t have anything.

Webster City Community Chorus Annual Holiday Concert

The Webster City Community Chorus, under the direction of Don Anderson, will present its annual holiday concert, “I Wish You Christmas” on Saturday, Dec., 7, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 921 Des Moines St., Webster City.  The concert will feature new and traditional holiday songs, the Asbury Bell Choir, and soloists and instrumentalists on several pieces.  A free-will offering will be taken, which goes toward the purchase of music and other group expenses.

Lighted Drive at Briggs Woods

Join in the fun at the Briggs Woods Campgrounds and drive through to see the lighted camping spots.  Local businesses will showcase the spots with lights and beauty!  No need to get out of the car - just drive through and enjoy the lights.  You can make a free will donation and funds go to help support Domestic Abuse Charity in Hamilton County.  If you'd like to participate, download the form here and return it to the Chamber!

Guys Night Out

 The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting Guys Night Out on Friday, December 13th from 6 to 8 pm.  The fun actually begins Tuesday, December 10 through Friday, December 13th.  The guys can visit local stores and pick up a poker card and try to create the best five card poker hand for prizes to be given out Friday night.  Those stores are: Gerber Auto, NAPA, True Value, Lamperts, Bomgaars, Marlie’s Garage, Critter Nation, Dinsdale Motors, and Webster City RV.

Bring your best hand to Hy-Vee on Friday between 6 and 7:30 pm and prizes will be given to the winners.  Six packs of craft beer, Chamber Bucks and more will be some of the prizes.  Hy-Vee will be hosting a craft beer tasting from 6 to 8 pm and providing snacks as well.  There is no cost to participate and the Chamber asks that beer tasters drink responsibly and enjoy the evening.  After the beer tasting the guys are invited to Seneca Street Saloon for pizza specials and beer specials.

December 14
Christmas at the Bridge
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas ♫♫♪”
Bring the entire family to the Bridge located at 905 Des Moines Street on Saturday, December 14 from 9 am to 12 noon.  Christmas at the Bridge is a FREE family event where adults, teens, and children come and pick out a present for their little brother, their big sister, their Mom, their Grandma, their neighbor -someone on their list!

The Bridge will be filled with tables of toys, books, clothing, treats, tools, candles, gift cards, baskets, stuffed animals, coloring books, crayons, all sorts of gifts...Christmas music fills the air with the sights and sounds of the Holiday season. Volunteers will be ready to help make a Christmas card and wrap and decorate the present. Refreshments will be served.  

 All families from our community are invited to come and no reservations needed.

Holiday Movie at the Library
The library has special children’s movies chosen for Saturday mornings in December.  The first 2 weeks feature holiday films with Prancer (G) on December 7 and Disney’s Christmas Carol (PG, with Jim Carrey) on December 14.  Popular recent releases will be shown for the last 2 Saturdays.  Monsters University (G) is set for December 21 and Despicable Me 2 (PG) will be shown on December 28. 
Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to watch a movie in the Kendall Young Library Children’s Department every Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-noon.  Older siblings & families are also welcome. Bring a friend, enjoy the movie and popcorn.

Jane Young House Tours
Webster City Women’s Club members, JoAnn Robb and Loween Getter, will take the parts of Jane Young and her housekeeper, Susan Dougherty, on Saturday, December 14 for a “Holiday House Tour”.  Christmas décor from Every Blooming Thing, The Flower Cart, Heart N Home, Hy-Vee Floral, and Stony Creek Landscapes will be showcased.  The pre-scheduled 30 minute tours will be from 12:00-4:00 pm at The Jane Young House with 4 to 8 people. Reservations for December 14 can be made through the Webster City Area Chamber Office at 515-832-2564. The price is $5.00 per person and includes Farmhouse Kitchen treats along with a hot drink.  You can also register on the events page! 

Santa’s Workshop
​Santa Claus and his elves will set up shop in a new Webster City location this year.  Children and families are invited to Santa’s Workshop in the Kendall Young Library meeting room on Saturday, December 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Children will have an opportunity to visit with Santa and share their Christmas wish lists as well as make some holiday crafts. Volunteers will be available to assist with the crafts.  Those attending will also have a chance to decorate a cookie and have refreshments.  The event is free of charge and is sponsored by the library and the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce. - 

International Holiday Festival at All Cultures Equal, 1440 East Second Street, 4 to 7 pmJoin in a festival of tasty traditional treats and lively music, dances, and games that people make, eat, and do to celebrate holidays around the world. Free will donations.

Supper with Santa at Grid Iron Grill

Kids 10 and under eat free with a paid Adult entree. See Santa from 5 to 8 pm.

December 17
One man show of A Christmas Carol at the Library

Kendall Young Library will present a one-man performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on Tuesday, December 17th at 6:30 p.m. in the Library Meeting Room.  Duffy Hudson, veteran Broadway and film actor, will perform all of the parts of over 30 characters in this holiday classic, including Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the Ghost of Christmas Past. The characters appear through his voice and gestures without the aid of costumes or props.  This heartwarming 75-minute program is ideal for all ages and admission is free.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and no tickets or reservations are necessary.
