Keep Iowa Beautiful 2014 Conference

May 6 and 7 in Webster City 

May 6th 
Please join us in helping the community of Webster City May 6 in the eventing for a Service Project  happening along the biking/walking trail that follows the Boone River through Webster City.  Plantings will be done to enhance the trail and YOU CAN HELP!!  The service project will begin with a tour of the trail from 4PM to 5PM and planting from 5PM to 6:30PM followed by an informal dinner.  Cost of participation is included in the Conference Registration.

Art In Rural Communities
            Speaker: Melinda Childs From St. Paul, MN
    Community Tree Planning, Planting & Care
            Speakers:  Carole Teator With Trees Forever, Kent Harfst From City Of Webster
            City And Joe Herring, DNR District Forester
    Hometown Pride
            Presenters Will Include Participants Of Hometown Pride Programs From
            Pocahontas And Fremont Counties
    Creating A New Identity For Your Community
            Speakers:  Jim Dittoe, Winning Communities And Others
    Rivers And Water Trails
            This Session Will Discuss Enhancing River Access And Recreation In Your            Community.
    Environmental Education Service Projects
            Speaker:  Mike Todd, Ames High School And Students Who Have Been Actively
              Participating In Environmental Education And Service Learning In The Ames 
            Community.  Mr. Todd Received The Presidential Innovation Award For Environmental 
            Educators In 2013 For Using The Environment As A Learning Context For His Students.

Webster City Photo Contest

The Take Pride in Webster City Committee announced today that photos are now being accepted for the Photo Event being held in conjunction with the Keep Iowa Beautiful Conference to be held in Webster City May 7th, 2014.
Area photographer buffs, amateur and experienced are invited to submit up to 3 digital photos of their favorite places in Webster City.  These photos will be on display at the Keep Iowa Beautiful Statewide Conference and will appear on the Take Pride in Webster City Committee wcpride.com website as well as the Chamber website.
Digital Photos should be of Webster City places which highlight the beauty and attractiveness of the City.
Deadline for entries is April 15, 2014.  They are to be submitted digitally to photos@wcpride.com.Additional guidelines and requirements are available at www.wcpride.com
